The incident occurred at No. 12/13, Badagry Expressway, Orile-Iganmu, Lagos.</div><div><br /></div><div>Uwadione also informed the court that the defendant, without an order of the court, retook possession of an apartment from the landlord of House No. 12/13, Badagry Expressway, Orile-Iganmu, Lagos, who recently obtained possession and eviction through a writ of court. Orizu put his own padlock to lock the apartment after the Lagos State judicial personnel removed his property from the apartment.</div><div><br /></div><div>Furthermore, Uwadione stated that Orizu conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by depriving the landlord of the house of taking over the possession of the apartment that he had previously occupied after he was evicted through the writ of court. He added that Orizu stole bulbs and electrical fittings valued at N500,000 from his former apartment.</div><div><br /></div><div>Uwadione mentioned that the stolen properties belonged to the landlord, Mr Lawrence Abayomi.</div><div><br /></div><div>According to the prosecutor, the offences committed contravened sections 104 (i) (h), 168 (d), and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.</div><div><br /></div><div>However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. Magistrate Waliu Salami granted him bail in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties in like sum. The dollar in the parallel market is presently selling at a lower price than the official market.”</p><p><br /></p><p>However, our correspondent reached out to “Abdusallam BDC” (Abubakar Abdusallam) on Wednesday in Abuja, and he denied selling FX at the quoted price.</p><p><br /></p><p>“Dollar is selling at N1300/$1, not N1000 or N900,” he said.</p><p><br /></p><p>Recently, the Central Bank of Nigeria offered to sell $10,000 to each BDC operator at N1,251/$.</p><p><br /></p><p>The apex bank expects them not to sell above N1,269/$, representing a margin of N18.</p><p><br /></p><p>A social media user, whose real name could not be ascertained, also debunked the rumour, stating that he was at the location (Sheraton Hotel Zone 4) and there was no such transaction.</p><p><br /></p><p>“I was at Zone 4 this morning, and there was nothing like that. Their sacrifice will be remembered and honoured for generations to come and their.</p><p><br /></p><p>On 14 March, Lt. Colonel A. H. Ali, the Commanding Officer of 181 Amphibious Battalion, led three other officers and 13 soldiers to the Okuama Community to mediate in the lingering dispute with Okoloba Community.</p><p><br /></p><p>They went as peace makers and peace keepers respectfully seeking to bring an end to the hostilities between the two communities.</p><p><br /></p><p>They didn’t go with tanks, machine guns and other weapons.</p><p><br /></p><p>They were on a mission of peace.</p><p><br /></p><p>Before the dastardly attack, Lt. Colonel Ali, as the Chief of Army Staff briefed me, enjoyed great operational exploits; fighting terrorists and insurgents in the North East and North West before his deployment to the Niger Delta.</p><p><br /></p><p>Ali kept faith with his military calling till the end.</p><p><br /></p><p>On behalf of a grateful nation, we honour the sacrifice of Ali and the other gallant patriots who died that day. It is my prayer that God will comfort all who are bereaved as a result of this tragedy.</p><p><br /></p><p>It is worth restating the debt of gratitude we owe these valiant soldiers and their families.</p><p><br /></p><p>As Commander-In-Chief, I do not take the contributions of members of our Armed Forces for granted. I recognise your valour and bravery. Although not explicitly mentioning “association”, Section 38 protects the freedom of thought, conscience, and religion. This includes the freedom to hold and express political opinions, which are often exercised through associations.</p><p><br /></p><p>“These provisions collectively affirm the right of individuals to form or join associations, including trade unions or other groups, without undue interference from the government or other entities. They matched out my staff living in those buildings, including lecturers at the university, and made them to `sit on bare ground.</p><p><br /></p><p>“They also broke into my late brother, Ambassador Akporode Blessing Clark’s house. He served this country internationally in various capacities, including as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as both of us share the same premises. They brought out his son almost naked, as the young man was taking a bath when they stormed the house.</p><p><br /></p><p>“All their phones were seized.
