A non governemntal organization, focused on peace campaigns and the recognition of persons who have made significant impacts at improving peace across Nigeria have decorated the Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service, Dr. Babatunde Fowler, with the prestigious National Peace Awards, as "The Most Organised MDA in Nigeria.
Speaking with the President of the Messengers of Peace and Convener of the National Peace Awards, Dr. Suleiman Adejoh congratulated the "revenue revolutionist" and commended his efforts in the FIRS, stating that the award and recognition was in view of his intellectual impact and capacity at ensuring a sound a smooth improvement of the revenue and tax sector.

He also stressed that the Federal Inland Revenue Service under Dr. Babatunde Fowler has been a channel through which infant agencies, resourceful programs and empowerment projects across Nigeria are promoted and supported, throigh the CSR mandate of the institution. 
Unlike other MDAs, the FIRS, under Babatunde Fowler has been quite innovative, creative and are working tirelessly to sustain efforts of the agency towards realising its revenue generation target via taxes, as well as through the new initiative in the digitalisation of tax operations in Nigeria.

Since assumption of office, the FIRS Boss has been made commendable successes in the revenue sector, which includes his record breaking success in 2018 with the highest revenue collection in the history of Nigeria of N5.3 trillion. More than half revenue came from the non-oil sector, which was quite impressive.

The National Peace Awards, which was held in Abuja and organised by the Messengers of Peace will also be unveiling a new symbol of recognition, strictly for those who have played pragmatic roles in the sustainability of peace across all sectors. The new "Peace Messenger" plate number will be unveiled soon, as the agency has concluded it endorsements and acceptance by relevant national organisations in Nigeria.
