The PDP has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to drop the talk about third term agenda.

The PDP said that President Buhari should focus on putting an end to violence associated with elections in the country.

The opposition also called on the president to restore the rule of law and make sure elections in Nigeria are free and fair The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari's declaration that he will not be running for a second term.

The PDP, through it national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbodiyan, said that what is of dire importance to Nigerians is the violence that is usually associated to elections in the country especially in the Bayelsa and Kogi governorship polls.

The opposition party called on the president to ensure that rigging, manipulation of elections and other related crimes are put to an end once and for all.

It added that what Nigerians expect from its leadership at this time is the restoration of the rule of law and a legacy that upholds free and fair elections throughout the nation.
