IN EBONYI: Woman Sets Husband’s Other Wife, Seven Children Ablaze,In Family Massacre

The fire killed the victim and her seven children.

One Agnes Nwefuru has been sentenced to death by hanging for setting ablaze the home of her husband’s other wife. 

According to The Nation, the fire killed the victim and her seven children.

Reading her judgment at the High Court in Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State, Justice Uwabunkonye Onwosi said Nwefuru was guilty of meditated murder and convicted her accordingly. 

She said, “Nwefuru Agnes is found guilty of murder and is hereby convicted.

"The term of her sentence is that she be hanged by the neck until she is dead.”

In another unrelated matter, one Mogbo Afan, a teenager, has been accused of bringing the explosive that blew out the hand of his colleagues into a school premises. 

The victim, 16-year-old Chukwu Chibuike, whose hand was blown off by the explosive, said Afan, a son of a policeman, brought the weapon into the school.

Chibuike’s hand was amputated at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki following the incident.
