The management of Elizade University has admitted 300 new students into various degree programs in the school.

The University Vice Chancellor, Professor Olukayode Amund, while addressing the new students at the 8th Matriculation Ceremony for the 2019/2020 academic session held in the campus on Friday said the students were admitted after going through thorough screening and required examinations, adding that they are expected to be of good behaviours, dedicated to their studies and graduate to help solve lingering societal problems.

He said:

"I heartily welcome you to the 8th matriculation ceremony of this great citadel of learning. I (also) congratulate you students for scaling all the hurdles to secure admission into this University. Many other qualified candidates were not that fortunate as they did not have the competitive edge."

"I want to encourage you to face your academics squarely and not give any room to the devil. This university has maintained and will continue to maintain zero tolerance for all antisocial behaviours such as cultism, examination malpractice, hooliganism, drug abuse, prostitution and such other vices."

Prof. Olukayode, who is the third substantive Vice Chancellor of the university, established in 2012, also noted that the university is the "crowning effort of the Elizade Ojo Educational Foundations (EOEF) and its board of trustee to contribute to the growth and development of education in Nigeria."

"The university currently has a total of 30 fully accredited programs in four (4) faculties, namely, Basic and Applied Science, Engineering, Humanities, Social and Management Sciences, and Law reflecting a phenomenal growth from thirteen (13) programs in the faculties of Basic and Applied Sciences, Humanities and Management Sciences in 2012."

The Vice Chancellor however noted that the university hopes to kick-start the Postgraduate School, Faculties of Environmental Design and Management, and Pharmacy and the Distance Learning Centre by the next academic session.
