Imo State Governor-Elect, Hope Uzodinma has been issued the Certificate of Return at the Independent Electoral Commission headquarters in Abuja today, 15th of January 2020. He was joined by Uche Nwosu, former AA Governorship Candidate, Ifeanyi Ararume, the APGA governorship candidate and other Executive Members of the All Progressive Congress.
Late yesterday, the Supreme Court reversed the cancellation of results from 388 polling units in Imo State governorship election and declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Hope Uzodinma, winner of the poll. In this regard and in contrariwise to reports going round in the media that Hope Uzodinma will not be issued the certificate of return, many were brutally defeated when INEC presented the certificate to him in Abuja.
The former AA Party Candidate, Uche Nwosu who joined His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodinma to receive his certificate of return in Abuja had earlier filed cases against the APC candidate, but later withdrew their appeals to support him after returning back to the party.
Governor- Elect Hope Uzodinma picked the APC Ticket few months after he decamped from PDP. After the 2018 Governorship polls was conducted, he polled 96,000votes behind Emeka Ihedioha was declared winner of the polls. Uzodinma in his usual doggedness challenged the victory of Emeka Ihedioha up the Apex court, which he won eventually.
