… Benue still pending

The Supreme Court is to deliver judgement on the appeals brought before it concerning the gubernatorial elections conducted in March in Bauchi and Plateau states.

The apex court which have already delivered judgement concerning appeals that emernated from Kano and Sokoto states – that went the way of the incumbents, is currently on a break and will resume by 3pm today.

Although, the apex court which is yet to make comment on when to deliver the judgment concerning the appeal brought before it from Benue state, is certain that governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state and Simon Lalong of Plateau state will know their faiths today.

A seven-man panel of the court led by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta stood down proceedings till 3pm after lawyers to parties in the appeals adopted their written briefs and prayed the court to grant their clients' prayers.

Other members of the panel are: Justices Olukayode Ariwoola, Dattijo Mohammed, Amina Augie, Paul Galinje, Amiru Sanusi and Uwani Abba-Aji.
