It seems the Nigerian tier one lender, UBA plc has found an criminal way to recoup its endorsement money of Wizkid which was reported as being $3million (equivalent of over N1billion).

Just few days, actually few working hours into the new year, news began to sift out on social media that the Bank whose famous philanthropic owner is currently running a $5,000 grant to entrepreneurs under the aegis of TEF, has sacked a large percentage of its workforce.

Although the Bank is yet to make an official statement, there have been confirmatory message from former employees their relatives and friends concerning the situation.

Perhaps this was a long thought out strategy, where Wizkid will launder their image after the sack, or it was done to cut out redundant staff, Nigerians are angry with the manner UBA fired its employees without forewarning few days into 2020 despite the fact that some of them has served the bank for more than a decade, this seems like a criminal act and should be totally condenm from all quaters and we urge the federal government to urgently step into and remedy the situation.
