As the 2019 calendar year ends,  several organizations, institutions, public services holders, service Chiefs and Leaders in diverse national sectors may have taken some time to evaluate their achievements, functions and activities. But in the crime fighting sector, Ibrahim Magu, the 4th Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) has remained undaunted, as he receives numerous applauds for his active and most recognizable records with over 703 successful convictions in three years.

Embarking on the visionary mandate of a corruption free nation, Ibrahim Magu has left no stone unturned, especially in areas of internet scam, public funds embezzlement, recovery of looted funds and property forfeiture by corrupt public service holders. His achievement in the last 3years has led the recovery of over 794 billion naira, with Pounds Sterling of over 1,115, 930.47, Euros at  8,168,871.13 and also the sum of 86,500 CFA, including hundreds of properties such as filling stations, petroleum products, land and jewelries.

The Acting Chairman has continued to promote President Buhari's interest in ensuring a zero percent record of corrupt practices so as to attract foreign investors and also partially respond to pressure and standards of the  Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF), which in 2003 named Nigeria as one of the 23 countries non-cooperative in the international community's efforts to fight money laundering.

He has gradually become a nightmare of the incessant increase in internet scam in the country, those who are referred as "Yahoo Boys". IMO state university students have applauded the investigative and surveillance team which has continued to uncover hideouts, scam deals, internet fraud and crackdown on students who are engaged in yahoo Plus and other unconstitutional activities that bothers on the economic and financial structure of Nigeria.

As we speak, Nigerians in diaspora like Darlington Ajaero, a US based Showbiz Entrepreneur has hailed the efforts of Ibrahim Magu, stressing that his eagle's watch has significantly improved the nations image and reputation across international boundaries. In fact, ongoing campaigns by patriotic Nigerians across the nation have insisted that Ibrahim Magu continues to stem the unequivocal improvement of financial morality in public funds expenditure and discipline by public service holders.

Ibrahim Magu assumed office as the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in 2015, after Ibrahim Lamorde was sacked by President Buhari. Since then the war against corruption has taken a different vibe with countless success stories which includes the historic conviction of three former Governors for 12 and 14years jail sentences, including other numerous achievements.

The agency under Magu's watch also engaged the expansion of its operational offices, including new zonal offices in Ibadan, Oyo, Kaduna, Edo and Akwa-Ibom. Though the fight against corruption has remained vicious, but the undying interest and intellectual capacity of Ibrahim Magu and his team has refused to slack efforts and has promised to deliver more  efficient services in discharging their duties in the war against financial and economic crimes in Nigeria.
