Bayelsa Assembly Speaker, Monday Bubou-Obolo, has resigned his position, Nigeria's burgeoning online news platform, StatePress reports.

StatePress reports that members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly have appointed Abraham Ngobere as the new Speaker.

This burgeoning online news platform reports that Ngobere, who was the Deputy speaker took over from Monday Bubou-Obolo, who stepped down on Wednesday, February 19.

State Press reports that the development followed the inauguration of Governor Douye Diri and his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
