The National Union of Local Government Employees-NULGE, Anambra state chapter has recognized and decorated Hon. Barr. Raymond Onyegu, the Local Government Chairman of Orumba South with an Award of  Excellence. He was honoured on 10th February 2020, at Orumba South Local Government Area Council Headquarters, Umunze in Anambra state.

Hon. Barr. Raymond was conferred with the Exceptional Recognition and Award of Excellence by NULGE and was presented to him by the Chairman of Anambra State  Local Government Service Commission, Sir Dr. Peter Egenti in the presence of Hon. Emmanuel Obinna Nwafor, the Honourable representing Orumba South at the state house of Assembly. As a Chief Guest at the event, Hon. Nwafor testified about the political and administrative synergy that exists between his office and that of Hon. Barr. Raymond Onyegu.
Another Chief Guest at the ceremony was Comrade Adigwe S. Chikwelu, the State President of NULGE, who praised the Governor for identifying such an exceptional political extraordinaire and an iconic leader like Barr. Raymond, who returned from Atlanta in the United states to make remarkable impacts in Orumba and across Anambra state.

As a peace and conflict Expert, a global-health, aviation and international Lawyer, a Politician and a devoted Humanitarian, Hon. Barr. Raymond has remained undistracted in his proactive solutions to issues surrounding and necessitating sporadic growth and development in Orumba South LGA in Anambra state. He has been adept in infrastructural revolution through attracting foreign investors and international interventions to the LGA. 
His administration has recorded series of remarkable achievements, which includes improving the justice system, especially to support the oppressed by providing the legal Aide Council. He also attracted an ongoing duplex construction by Dr Godwin Maduka to alleviate the sufferings occasioned by paucity of Office space in the Local Government. His leadership has improved discipline in areas of punctuality, regularity and rekindled the fire dignified Labour in Orumba South LGA in Anambra state. He has also supported in providing responsive security, safety and immigration in the LGA.

In his envisioned interest, Hon. Barr. Raymond has also made personal commitments using his strength and capacity to support underprivileged persons and institutions including, roofing houses for widows, employment of Local Government staff and paying through his personal income, paying of school fees, empowerment of SMEs, donation of three wheelchairs to support the CAFE' initiative of the wife of the Governor Chief Mrs Ebele Obiano on her visit to the Local Government headquarters, amongst several other impacts.
In a reaction by Comrade Ify Chioma Mokah, the NULGE Chairman, Orumba South LGA and Host of the Award and Recognition Ceremony, she noted that the exceptional Honour of Hon. Barr. Raymond was well deserved and meritorious. According to the NULGE Secretary Orumba South LGA, Okoli Regina N. she expressed applaudable remarks as she praised Barr. Raymond for his antecedents as the Chairman of Orumba LGA, as his Award and recognition may be the second in history for any local government Chairman in Anambra state.

The occasion was graced by the distinguished presence of Dr. Mrs. Uju Okeke Commissioner 1,  Anambra state LG Service Commission, who was also the Special Guest of Honour at the ceremony of Exceptional Recognition/Award Of Excellence to the Local Government Chairman of Orumba South LGA, Hon. Barr. Raymond Onyegu.
While congratulating the chairman, Hon Comr. Obinna Joseph Nwankwo, SA to Governor of Anambra State on Project Management and Monitoring (PMMO) said he has worked closely with him and confirm he is not only a good man but a noble personality with a large heart.
