In the FCT, Volunteers of African Scholars Care Initiative-ASCI, a non governmental organizations has launched out a social campaign on the voluntary universal mask usage, as a supplementary initiative to flatten the curve created by the stupendous covid19 pandemic outbreak, which has led to thousands of deaths across the globe.

According to the project director of ASCI, Onumajuru Osomiamhe Joy, she noted that the voluntary activities which was held at Kado Kushi Village in the FCT was a fruition, as the NGO successfully conducted it's sensitisation program of educating the people on the need to ensure the use of face masks always and how the usage can be optimized.
During the outreach which was held at the palace of the district head, Volunteers from African Scholars Care Initiative-ASCI, through the support of friends and other volunteer members engaged people within the community with palliatives which included face masks, food items and even went extra mile to conduct temperature checks to ensure that people living around Kado Kushi community are safe.

Regardless, the NGO which executed the exercise in partnership with a reigning Queen, Peace Nnamani also encouraged beneficiaries of its social campaign to maintain strict adherence to the lockdown directives, by staying at home, engage social distancing and  self isolate if any form of symptoms are noticed. The volunteers also encouraged government agencies and relevant bodies, especially the NCDC, Ministry of health, Presidential Task Force on Covid19 and other institutions to make more efforts on providing economic relief interventions and responsive funds disbursement to Nigerians who are in critical needs of supports and aides.

Beneficiaries of the sensitisation program appreciated Volunteers from African Scholars Care Initiative-ASCI, as they commended the team for such a charitable contributions to their community. The district head, Chief Suleiman Dodo expressed gratitude to team and assured them that his community will continue to adhere to the sensitisation programs by ensuring the use of face masks, engaging in social distancing and respiratory hygiene.

The proactive NGO will be reaching out to kids on the proposed Children's day outreach of "#RunningWATERIsAMust" project, to provide running water in LEA schools within the FCT.
