It was a day to forget for Umudagu Mbieri community in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State, a middle-aged man, Johnbosco Ejiogu has been arrested for the attempted murder of his mother, Mrs. Pauline Ejiogu.
The incident which was reported to StatePress.ng through a reliable source, took place on Friday following advice from the aged mother to her son, not to sell off all the family properties.
Offended by the words of his mother, Johnbosco locked the two of them inside the house, stabbed the mother, and set the house ablaze.
But God has other plans, as the early intervention from other villagers and commercial motorcyclists quenched the fire, while the occupants were rushed to the hospital.
A reliable source, a neighbour to the family, Ikenna, told our reporter that Mrs. Ejiogu's offence was her counsel to her son, to turn a become a new person and stop selling off family properties.
According to him, Johnbosco had been a source of deep concern to his mother, over his rascality.
However, the state police command had admitted a report of the case which the Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Orlando Ikeokwu in a press statement.
