The New President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Imo State, Ambassador Azunna Akpelu has condemned the careless and sporadic shooting in Orlu, which led to the death of some people in the area.
The Imo Ohanaeze President expressed disappointment with the ugly development, which he described as unfortunate. Ambassador Azunna Akpelu was unequivocal in calling on the state and federal government to immediately unravel the situation that warranted the shedding of innocent blood of Imolites right in their home and business premisis in the Orlu senatorial zone of the state.

The Imo Ohanaeze stated that Imo and IGBO people in general are known for peace and tranquility in their personal and business life, wondering what should have prompted the sporadic exchange of bullets between the Nigerian security forces and yet be identified people.

The Imo Ohanaeze President, however stated emphatically that Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Imo would not accommodate such reckless sociopolitical disaster, rascality and gross Insecurity under his sociocultural leadership in the state.
He further called on the people of the state to eschew rancor and hostility that may jeopardize the social and intellectual sophistication for which the state is esteemed.

Ambassador Akpelu finally called on the state governor to continue in his renewed efforts to restore normalcy in the affected areas, and to do everything possible to eradicate insecurity in the state, bearing in mind that Imo state is currently the biggest holiday attraction hob in Nigeria, particularly in the areas of social pleasure, entertainment and exciting hospitality.
