President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the tenure of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar Adamu by 3 months.

Announcing this to State House Correspondents after a meeting with President Buhari, Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi, said the decision was to allow for proper selection of a successor.

 
The Inspector-General of Police was due for retirement on February 1, 2021.
