The FCT police command has arrested five suspects for car snatching and barmed robbery along Gwagwalada and Wuye axis. 

A statement by the command spokesperson, ASP Maryam Yusuf, which was issued to newmen in Abuja yesterday, gave the name of one Mohammed Musa a member of a notorious 4-man car snatching syndicate, which she said was arrested by eagle-eyed police detectives from Gwagwalada division during a routine patrol.

She said the suspect confessed that the syndicate operates by disguising as stranded passengers to lure their unsuspecting victims. The four -man robbery gang when they were paraded at the police command headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday She said exhibits recovered included a blue colour Toyota Corolla with registration number YAB 15 BK, one locally fabricated pistol and six rounds of live ammunition, saying effort was on going to arrest other fleeing suspects. 

She also disclosed that the police operatives from Wuye division has arrested four other robbery suspects, which she gave their names as Abdullahi Haruna Naziru Nasiru, Sani Ibrahim,Umar Musa. Two Suspected Kidnappers Shot Dead As Police Engage In Gun Duel In Abuja She said the four suspects were members of a four-man robbery gang terrorizing Wuye axis of Abuja, saying the suspects have confessed to be responsible for snatching phones, bags among others along the stadium area.

 According to her, exhibits recovered from the suspects are l, one red colour Golf car, four mobile phones, two sharp knives and three reflective jackets, saying the suspects will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigation.

 She said the command further wished to reiterate the ban on the use of unauthorized covered number plates within the FCT to desists, saying violators will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
