Nigeria will soon join the league of countries making use of Rapid Intervention Vehicle, RIV in firefighting as the number one fireman in the country and the Controller General of Fire Service, Dr Ibrahim Alhaji Liman on Monday completed an inspection tour of RIV at FIREX headquarters in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. 


This is even as he said the country has placed order for 15 of the state-of-the-art fire fighting equipment expected to arrive the country soon.

Speaking at FIREX headquarters in Dubai shortly after the tour, the Controller General said the inspection is part of his resolve to enlarge the tentacles of firefighting through the procurement of world class fire fighting tools even as Nigeria battles fire-related challenges. 


According to CG Liman, the Rapid Intervention Vehicle, RIV will help in accelerating quick response to fire incidences. 


He noted that the RIV is a compact airport firefighting vehicle of the CL series, which is suitable rapid and safe operation in small airports and heliports.

He was at the inspection tour conducted round Emergency-One facility by the Managing Director, Mr. Kevin Keeler and the company Export Manager, Malcolm Etridge. 


Also in his entourage was the Deputy MD Prime Atlantic Safety Services, Nigeria, Mrs Folake.
