The people of Orumba in Anambra state are currently in jubilant mood following the appointment of their sons, Hon Ben Nwankwo and ThankGod Ibeh into the state Transition Committee set up by the governor-elect, Prof. Charles Soludo. 


The people say the appointment of their two sons into the committee is an indication that the Orumba is blessed with men of high caliber who have so much to offer in the service of the state and the country at large. 


In a release of Thursday, the National Coordinator of Orumba Youth Vanguard, Alex Nwankwo thanked the governor-elect, Prof. Charles Soludo for finding their sons worthy of being in the committee. 


Honourable Ben Nnebedumchukwu Nwankwo, a native of Akpujiogu, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra is an administrator, businessman politician and lawmaker.


He worked as a Special Adviser to The Governor of Anambra State from 1999 to 2000. He also worked as a Commissioner in the State, serving in three different ministries; Works & Transport (2001-2002), Housing & Urban Development (2002-2003) and Finance & Budget (2002-2003).

Hon. Nwankwo twice served in the House of Representatives representing Orumba North/South Federal Constituency (2003 to 2007 & 2011 to 2015), both under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). 


The Transition Committee is to be chaired by former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili.


Transition Committee according to Joe Anatune, Media Assistant to the Anambra State Governor-Elect, Chukwuma C. Soludo will liaise with a team set up by the government of Anambra State to ensure a seamless transition from the Governor Willie Obiano’s administration to a Chukwuma Charles Soludo-led administration as from 17th March, 2022. 


The full Terms of Reference for the Committee as well as its mode of operation he added will be communicated during the inauguration/first plenary sessions scheduled for 19- 22nd January, 2022 at the Golden Tulip (Agulu Lake) Hotel, Anambra State. 


Members are expected to arrive on Wednesday, 19th while the inauguration and first plenary sessions start on the 20th. Departure is on the 23rd. 


He said the Secretariat will take care of the logistics (transport and accommodation), etc.
