Facts have emerged on the real reasons the publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore was arrested in Abuja on Thursday by the police.

Sowore was arrested following alleged defamation against a former member of House of Representatives and anti malaria campaigner, Hon. Ned Nwoko.

Sowore allegedly took to his media platform to circulate that Ned Nwoko has swindled African leaders to the tune of billions of dollars with his anti malaria campaign and other misleading reports.

He described the Ned Nwoko's anti malaria project as a white elephant project.

Representatives of the billionaire businessman, Ned Nwoko while speaking with our correspondent said the arrest was only to make Sowore table a proof that Ned Nwoko has received money from African leaders in the name of his anti malaria project.

Describing the allegation as defamatory and malicious, Ned Nwoko's legal team told our correspondent that efforts have been concluded to charge the case to court to save the name of their client whom they said is innocent of all the allegations brought against him by Sowore.

Meanwhile, Sowore has been granted administrative bail by the police while the international passport of his lawyer was seized.

He is expected report to the Police station this morning and to be  arraigned any moment from now to prove his allegations against Billionaire Philanthropist Ned Nwoko
