It was reported yesterday that touts attacked a tricycle operator in Awka, Anambra State capital, for refusing to pay his daily fee. The attack came after the governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, gave an order that drivers should stop paying money to touts.

Based on that note, a well known human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu decided to write directly to the Anambra State governor.

According to a tweet she made on her verified twitter handle, Aisha Yesufu stated it clearly that what happened in Anambra State is totally unacceptable, making it known that protection of lives and properties is the primary responsibility of governenmt. She ended her tweet by urging Soludo to do the needful.

Based on this particular statement that came from Aisha Yesufu, I really think that the newly inaugurated Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo should rise up and do the needful so as to make sure that such thing does not happen again. Just like Aisha Yesufu just said here, protection of lives is the major responsibility of the governenmt and the Anambra State government must do something about it now.
