Retired boxing champion, Floyd Mayweather is expected to storm the Federal Capital Territory ahead of his return to the ring at the Skies of Dubai on May 14, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The development was confirmed by his close ally, Keane Anis, who is in charge of his international tours.

He further stated that the heavyweight champion would address newsmen in Abuja and could also pay a courtesy call on Sports Minister, Sunday Dare.

Anis said Mayweather's visit to Nigeria would go a long way in promoting boxing, not just in the country, but the African continent.

He stated, "This is all about promoting the game, inspiring the youths and all that."

Anis noted that Mayweather has always been looking forward to visiting Africa even as he added that it is great for that to be actualised now.

"I hope he gets a rousing reception in the country," Anis said.
