Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored four goals on Monday as Nigeria defeated Sao Tome and Principe 10-0 in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.

Others who got on the scoresheet are Moses Simon, Oghenekaro Etebo, Ademola Lookman and Emmanuel Dennis. Terem Moffi scored a brace.

The win puts Nigeria at the top of Group A following the Super Eagles' 2-1 victory against Sierra Leone on June 9 in Abuja.
 
Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro once again opted for a 4-4-2 formation, keeping Francis Uzoho in goal after impressing in the Super Eagles' last three games.

In the defence, Calvin Bassey was moved to central defence to pair with Semi Ajayi. Ola Aina and Zaidu Sanusi occupied the right-back and left-back positions respectively.

In midfield, Peseiro opted for Etebo and Alex Iwobi. Joe Aribo was dropped to the bench.

Leicester City's Lookman, who was preferred ahead of Samuel Chukwueze, operated from the wings alongside Moses Simon.

Osimhen and Moffi led the team's attack.
