On behalf of my Family and Friends, I want to specially congratulate my boss, His Excellency Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa on his emergence as PDP Vice Presidential candidate in the forthcoming general election.
It was not a smooth sail to the assle. The PDP Vice Presidential selection committee had a hectic time assessing the pros and cons, the pedigree, national appeal, experience, statesmanship etc of the shortlisted candidates, but at the end, Gov. Okowa met all the necessary requirements and was duly selected.
During the entire process, Gov Okowa maintained that golden thread that ran through his political history - calm mien, comradely comportment and circumspection as the selection committee searched studiously for a suitable Vice presidential candidate.
According to Richard Nixon, former US president.."It took five qualities to seek high public office.. wit, brains, heart, judgement, guts & experience". Gov. Okowa's sterling performance as Governor of Delta State in the last 7 years has brought him to national limelight and of course that was the enabler to higher office.
The bizantine complexities and mercurial nature of Nigeria's economy requires hard-boiled technocrats, thoroughbred professionals, experienced and astute politicians like Atiku Abubakar and Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa to superintend and roll back from the precipice.
Gov. Okowa is unarguably well schooled in the staccato of economic theories, and since the office of the Vice President is imbued with the responsibility of steering the economy of the nation, he will synergize with economic experts to juxtapose the need of the time with party ideology and come up with a workable and practical solution that will take the nation's economy out of the wood.
I am immensely convinced that the duo of Atiku and Okowa will run a populist government where several industries will be established and thrive to absorb teeming unemployed youths, Agriculture will be given a quantum leap, massive infrastructural development, steady power supply,Naira strengthened, conducive environment for foreign investors, improved security, increased education fund, reduction in capital flight, value reorientation etc will be enhanced.
Once again, Congratulations Your Excellency and God's speed in the task ahead.
