I

My name is Charles Chibuike Onyirimba, a native of Umudike, Umueze 2, in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of IMO State. I am a devout Christian, a human rights activist, a poet, a journalist, a philanthropist, a distinctive politician, and happily married with 5 beautiful children to the Glory of God;

My HONOURS AND AWARDS:

I was awarded the Honorary Nigeria Consul in Atlanta, in 1996;I was again awarded Honorary Citizenship, by the Governor of Georgia, USA, for leadership and Philanthropy;I was also awarded Honorary Citizenship by the Governor of Arkansas for leadership and Philanthropy;

I became the Recipient of ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN ORGANIZATIONS OF GEORGIA, image A TAKE A BOW AND GO; 

I also received the IMO STATE CONGRESS of NIGERIA, Leadership Award;

My EDUCATION IN NIGERIA:

I had my education in Nigeria as follows:Basic Primary Education at the Central School Umueze 2, Ehime Mbano in 1973; Madonna High School, Ihitte 1978; and Higher School Certificate at the Government College Umuahia in 1979;

My EDUCATION OVERSEAS:

I had my education Overseas as follows:  

First Degree in Political Science & Journalism at Oklahoma State University, USA in 1984; 

Further graduate studies at University of Florida, USA, where I earned my Juris Doctorate Degree in 1987; and 

I did another post graduate studies at the CORNERSTONE Christian University, Atlanta Georgia, USA, where I earned my Doctor of Philosophy degree in 2020;

My LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCES:

ACADEMIC UNION & YOUTHS AGAINST CORRUPTION:

I started leadership at a very young age, when I founded and served as the first President of Umueze

 2. ACADEMIC UNION & YOUTHS AGAINST CORRUPTION in 1979. Before I left for the United States in 1981, in search of greener pasture; 

OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY, USA 

After graduating, as a law officer, from OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY in the USA, I worked with FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS, as a prosecuting attorney.

I was elected the President of African Students Association at the OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY in my undergraduate days;

I was the first black to be elected President of International Students Association, consisting of 25 countries at OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY with over 40,000 students;

FLORIDA

During my days in FLORIDA, I sponsored a campaign in USA to support the then Head of State, General IBRAHIM BABANGIDA in his efforts to prosecute and sanction foreign countries, who were involved in dumping in NIGERIA.  

This campaign amassed over 75,000 signatories, who were  in support of the GENERAL's efforts;

ATLANTA GEORGIA

I was a MEMBER of the AMERICAN TRIAL LAWYERS ASSOCIATION, Atlanta GEORGIA 1989;

I was a member of the AMERICAN INNS OF COURT FOUNDATION;

I was a member of GEORGIA BAR ASSOCIATION;

I was also a member of the AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION;

In 1999, I founded and became the first President, AFRICAN AMERICAN LAWYERS ASSOCIATION, ATLANTA, GEORGIA.

I was the Chairman, NIGERIAN OLYMPIC RECEPTION COMMITTEE; - a community-based group that sponsored the Nigerian Olympic Athletic Games in Atlanta, Georgia;

IGBO UNION

President of IGBO UNION, Atlanta, USA, Succeeded in uniting over 30 Organizations of IGBO ORIGIN in ATLANTA;While subsisting as the President of IGBO UNION, Atlanta, USA, in my second year, I launched the first quarter of the 1.5milion dollars IGBO CULTURE CENTER in ATLANTA;

While still the President of IGBO UNION Atlanta, I created the union's logo, emblem and union's magazine, the nOGENE;

Also, I established the IGBO UNION MEDIATION CENTER; an organization that brokers peace among members in the USA;

While the President of IGBO UNION in USA, I was opportune to host the following   great personalities and icon of Igbo land and NIGERIA:

IKEMBA NNEWI, Dim CHUKWUEMEKA ODUMEGWU OJUKWU; and we discussed -THE WAY FORWARD FOR NDIGBO all over the globe;

Chief CHUKWUEMEKA EZEIFE, former Governor of ANAMBRA STATE and 

GEN YAKUBU GOWON, former NIGERIA MILITARY HEAD OF STATE;

WORLD IGBO CONGRESS:

I co-founded the WORLD IGBO CONGRESS, WIC, situated in HOUSTON TEXAS in 1994; The WIC that is later to become the pivotal drive for all political activities of IGBOs in AMERICA and all over the world;

I served as the first Chairman, MEMBERSHIP, RECRUITMENT and MOBILIZATION COMMITTEE of the WORLD IGBO CONGRESS;

IMO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCILIMO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL, (IEDC) - was formed by me, in conjunction with George Etim and late Charles Muruako; 

I also served on the Board, as a DIRECTOR; - The IEDC was a think-tank group formed to attract investors into IMO STATE;

IMO POLITICAL FORUMIMO POLITICAL FORUM – Was formed in conjunction with other notable IMO SONS in 1998;

To advance Political Processes and Awareness in IMO STATE;NIGERIANS IN DIASPORA ORGANIZATION-NIDOI also founded, in conjunction with other Nigerians in Diaspora Organization-NIDO, under the auspices of Ambassador Joe Keshi;

AFRICAN EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP COUNCIL  

AFRICAN EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP COUNCIL, WASHINTON DC based NGO – I served as the Chairman, member of Board of Directors in 2001; - AELC, was an organization comprising of 18 African Ambassadors to America and African Business Leaders, who pushed for business interest in all African countries;

NATIONAL LEGAL ADVISER to IMO STATE CONGRESS OF AMERICAI was the NATIONAL LEGAL ADVISER to IMO  STATE CONGRESS OF AMERICA in 2012;

2013, I was elected the National President of the great CONGRESS - an organization formed to protect the interests of IMO STATE citizens' resident in North America;

NIGERIAN-AMERICAN LAWYERS

I was the First Black to become the first presiding officer under Nigerian-American Lawyers in 2016;

I was later elected the first NATIONAL PRESIDENT OF NIGERIAN-AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION;

OKIGWE UNITY SUMMIT in HOUSTON, USAIn 2017, I convened the OKIGWE UNITY SUMMIT in HOUSTON, USA, to unify the good people of OKIGWE ZONE and advance their economic and political development;
