A co-convener of Nigeria Youth Decide conference, Dr. Utchay Odims, Gospel Artist ASU Ekiye, along with the Director of Publicity, Alex Nwankwo popularly known as Alex Reports and other members of the organising committee have met with a clergy, Bishop John Praise, of the Dominion Chapel Abuja seeking his endorsement in the upcoming event.

Nigeria Youth Decide conference comes up Oct 1, 2022 at Abuja Sheraton Hotel and Towers and is expected to have in attendance presidential candidates of various political parties where the participants, largely drawn from the youth community will interface with the aspirants and set an agenda for them.

Receiving the delegates, Bishop John Praise who is also the vice president of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria noted that there is need to rescue Nigeria from recklessness and leaders that have no vision.

According to the cleric, Nigeria must move away from tribal sentiment and religious bigotry to get it right in leadership.

While stating that leaders have come in the past, make promises to the people but unfortunately left them more pauperised, expressing joy that visionary young people have started indicating interest in their governance process to bring light to the nation.

"The scriptures say when the righteous rule, the people rejoice but when the wicked people rule, the people are crying and mourning.

"So we want to see righteous people rule so that our country can rejoice. Our young people will not become arm robbers on the streets, or terrorists or kidnappers.

"We want a solution and I believe that is why you are doing this. Our people want a nation that works for them, they want to work. They don't just go to school for the fun of it, they want to go to school and be engaged.

"They want to be part of building this nation, unfortunately we have lost a number of professionals, doctors, engineers, who do not have a place in their own country and they may not dream of coming back here" he said.

He encouraged the conveners of Nigeria Youth Decide to continue to be the light bearers of the nation, assuring total support for the project.

Earlier, Dr. Utchay Odims reiterated the readiness of young people to change the narrative of bad leadership which he said has held the country back for a long time.

According to him, if young people miss the 2023 opportunity, the country could slide into more terrible situation.

The organisers have earlier secured the endorsement of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Secretary General of Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku and others towards to Nigeria Youth Decide project.

Popular gospel singer, Asu Ekiye, the prince of Niger Delta also expressed readiness to be part of the ongoing efforts to change the narratives in the country's leadership firmament.
