A peace and unity campaign organisation, Messengers of Peace Foundation has joined a conference in Abuja as part of activities marking the 2022 World Peace Day.

The conference which took place at National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN Jabi Abuja was in collaboration with the Department of Peace Studies and conflict resolution of the university.

The National president of the Messenger of Peace, MOP Foundation Dr. Suleiman Adejoh in his remarks called on all citizens to be partners in the efforts to promote peace and national unity and appealed to Nigerians not to be messengers of Doom ,war or violence but mrssengers of peace.

While assuring that MOP will continue to be at the forefront in promoting peace in Nigeria, he highlighted that the organisation has various platforms it has adopted in raising awareness about peace in Nigeria, including Queens of Peace Nigeria, Queens of Peace International, the children's department the MOP Ambassadors who through theatrical performances spoken words ,singing assist in promoting peace.

Dr. Adejoh said the gathering is critical in raising the bar of peaceful co-existence in the country, even as he praised the organisation's the university partners for their support in promoting peace ,he assured them of a bigger synergy next time and appreciate all other speakers at the event ,the CG of NCDSC civil defense who was the chairman of the occasion and was ably represented by the Deputy commandant in charge of intelligence spoke extensively on the need for Nigeria to unity tp promoting peace using our diversity as our strenght.the FCT minister who was also represented by the secretary of education fct commend the organizer and call 9n Nigerians to vote for credible leaders in the coming general elections.
MOP which is the organiser of the prestigious national peace awards a yearly event also said nomination is open to honour those who have promoted peace in their various communities, using various platforms and deploying their resources and intellect in promoting peace.this years event is slatted for the 19th November 2022 

Dr. Adejoh thanked the Minister of State for FCT, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu who is also the grand matron of the MOP for her efforts in peace building, describing her as a lover of peace and a fantastic humanitarian.

The gathering also observed a minute silent in honour of the motherl of the minister who passed on on Tuesday.
