A former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) of the University of Ibadan, Professor Adigun Agbaje, was abducted while on his way to Ibadan at about 1800 hrs on Friday.
According to eons intelligence, available report indicates that the assailants blocked his way near the popularly Sat Guru Maharaji Garden before abducting him.
Amid the attack, the gunmen “eliminated some policemen around the scene” before making away with Adigun.
Meanwhile, the kidnappers have contacted the family and are demanding a sum of N50m as ransom.
Agbaje is a professor of Political Science and is considered one of UI’s most respected products.
