The Independent Electoral Commission on Wednesday presented 10,000 forms to the Vice Chancellor, Bayero University, Kano, Prof. Sagir Abbas for recruitment of ad-hoc staff for the 2023 general elections.

INEC’s Director of General Administration and Procurement, Lawal Sauri, who presented the application forms, said interested members of the academic community wishing to be engaged as ad-hoc staff in the 2023 General election can apply.

Sauri explained that “the forms are for both academic and non-teaching staff as well as students who may wish to participate in the elections exercise.”

He, therefore, called on interested persons to “apply online and thereafter come over for the collection of the hard copy application forms.”

Sauri, who was accompanied by top management staff of the commission however, stressed that “Only those who apply online will be considered.”

In his speech shortly after the presentation, the VC, Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas, commended INEC for considering BUK as “a worthy partner.”

He assured that “the management will make the forms available to any interested persons and will make sure that such persons are recruited for the election exercise.”

Already, Prof. Adamu Abbas has directed that a general circular be published calling for interested persons to come forward for the collection of the forms.
