Former Fiorentina star, Carmine Esposito, has picked Napoli’s Victor Osimhen as a better striker than Chelsea loanee Romelu Lukaku.

Osimhen was in brilliant form before the 2022 FIFA World Cup break, scoring ten goals in all competitions for Napoli so far this season.

Lukaku, meanwhile, has seen his season blighted by injuries, with the Belgium international scoring only two goals in five appearances.

“I have no doubts: always Osimhen,” Esposito told Radio Punto Nuovo when asked to choose between Osimhen and Lukaku.

“Lukaku has been squeezed a lot by now and is in a tired phase, but Osimhen is currently the top in Italy and in Europe.”

He added, “Luciano is a master in making his forwards grow and exalt, then Osimhen is becoming a leader of this team.”
