The convener/project coordinator African Hair Summit, Adanna Ifeoma Enwezor has been honoured with award of recognition, making list of the 100 most inspirational female founders in Africa.
This event which was designed to mark the international Women's Day is in recognition of her contributions towards community development through the natural hair and beauty sector.
Taking to the social media to express her feelings for the recognition, she said she feels honoured, pledging to create more impact in the sector.
She said, "I am honored to have been recognized as one of Africa's most inspirational female founders. My passion and commitment towards the growth of the natural hair industry in Africa remains evident as we continue to expand on partnerships and conversations through the African Hair Summit and the Afro Hair Culture Festival that will help create more impact in the sector, raise more health awareness, showcase the beauty of our Afro Hair Culture and bring about real development and economic prosperity to the continent of Africa."
She has also attracted accolades for empowering the girl child through her initiatives Photizo Life Foundation launched since 2016.
Her annual African Hair Summit which usually holds in Abuja seeks to celebrate African heritage, identity and businesses.
Adanna, while addressing newsmen stated that a recent research indicates that the hair care market in Africa is poised to grow by over $900m between 2020 - 2024.
She has consistently advocated that individuals take advantage of the multiple opportunities within the beauty sector in Africa.
Her hair summit and festival brings together participants and vendors from across the world.
She was last year honoured at the 2022 Miss Intelligence Nigeria pageant show which seeks to promote entrepreneurship among women in Nigeria.
She recently said, her non-governmental organisation is officially welcoming partners and sponsors in 2023 to support the projects to create real impact within the society.
