In the midst of various challenges faced by Nigerians it is important to have some moment of dance and fun as well as explore ways to unite our dear nation through dance and drama.


The Drum Majors For Peace in Collaboration with The NATIONAL TROUPE OF NIGERIA (NTN) and The Department of Arts and Culture of the Social Development Secretariat, Abuja is organizing NATIONAL UNITY DANCE FESTIVAL, it's an annually organized and internationally recognized unity dance and drama festival in Nigeria with the aim of contributing and complementing the efforts of Government in the promotion and pursuit of diversifying Nigeria's economy away from oil.


Following the remarkable success and huge impacts recorded at the maiden edition of the National Unity Dance Festival in 2022, organized in partnership with the Department of Arts and Culture of the Social Development Secretariat, we are primed to organize the 2023 edition of the Festival—promising an even better experience for all. 


The Festival brings together stakeholders from different fields of endeavor as well as talented dance troupes for stimulating drama and dance displays. The goal of the initiative is to promote the potentials of our creative Industry and their role in nation-building.

National Unity Dance Festival scheduled to take place as follows:

Venue: Cyprian Ekwensi Centre for Arts and Culture, Garki Area 10, Abuja

Time: 4:00pm 


The Executive Director Drum Majors For Peace, Amb. Nsikan Paul, therefore calls on the general public to support the initiative for creative empowerment and social cohesion in Nigeria.


He believe this initiative will create maximum and tremendous impacts especially now that the country is bedeviled with all forms of insecurity ranging from kidnapping, banditry, terrorism and religious intolerance that suggests disintegration. It is our collective responsibility to promote peace in season and out of season.

A recent release by the Executive Director Drum Majors For Peace, Amb. Nsikan Paul, stated that "Inline with Goal 17 of the sustainable development goals SDGs (Partnership For The Goals), the initiative will feature other reputable organizations including Theatre Arts Department Of the University of Abuja Nigeria, The MOP KIDS, BLACKBONES THEATER KOMPANY, ALEXREPORTS, IBLOOV, SAGEWORKS, ABUJA PR, ABUJA DANCERS INFO, MORE NEWS.NG, FELA MEDIA, ABUJA CONNECT, RIDA, UPLAND REALTORS a reputable real estate company that benevolently gave a plot of land to a lucky winner at the last edition and other brands to make this edition richer than the previous editions"


He added that The main objectives of the event includes:


1. To Galvanize support for the promotion of Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.


2. To Promote unity and social cohesion, especially after the recent general elections, through creative expressions and entertainment.


3. To complement government's effort in the diversification of our nation's economy through digital and creative economy to reduce much reliance on the oil sector.


4. To bring stakeholders together for policy formation and promotion that would improve and add value to our creative and tourism sectors.


The 2023 National Unity Dance Festival is geared to uniting the nation.
