An author and founder, HalimaFactor Community Initiative, Halima Usman has urged teenage girls and women generally in the country to adopt a healthy lifestyle as a sure way to achieve their goals and live a fulfilling life.

According to her, many women dream to be successful but do not make adequate efforts to walk on the path that will lead to destination that would assist in realising their goals.

Addressing participants in Abuja at the second day of the recently concluded maiden edition of the WODDI Inspiring Women Summit (WIWS) 2023 organised by the former First Lady of Imo State and wife of the Senator representing Imo West, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha, Usman the immediate past chairman of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) Abuja chapter said living a healthy lifestyle involves what she called tiny daily, disciplines, actions and choices which help individuals gain and maintain physical and mental well-being.

Speaking on the topic, "Adolescent Lifestyle, A Challenge To Becoming The Complete Woman", Usman charged participants to shun activities that are detrimental to their health.

She said drug and substance abuse which leads to mental disorder, depression and other health issues as well as sexual activity and adolescent pregnancy have life-long consequences that could jeopardise their future, appealing to them to avoid such lifestyle.

"Whichever decision you take will either lead you to a place you want to go, or a kind of place you don't want to go, but because you failed to take the right decision, you will end up there", she warned.

She urged participants to strive to become that complete woman who is kind, patient, peaceful hardworking, committed, dedicated and resilient so that they can contribute to nation building.

Usman said regular exercise, mental development through study, self-love, positive interaction and thinking, as well as can do spirit enhances healthy lifestyle.

She urged her audience to take a cue from women who have defied odds even as young people to achieve a record of honour for themselves, insisting that such is only possible where there is a deliberate attempt to live healthy.
