Gunmen suspected of being kidnappers have reportedly abducted five members of an Islamic group.

The five abductees are members of Dawah Tabligh Jammah, who on Sunday were returning home from a Dawah programme held in Kano State.

The victims were abducted in the early hours of Sunday along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.

A member of the group who spoke with Abujapress noted that all five victims are from Oyo State.

Mallam Ibrahem Al-Amin, a member of the group who spoke with DAILY POST on Monday, confirmed the abduction.

He said: “Between Kaduna and Abuja expressway on Sunday, five of our members were kidnapped. They were coming from the Dawah programme in Kano, which started on Thursday and ended on Sunday. They are members of Dawah Tabligh Jammah, all five of them are from Oyo State.”

Efforts made by DAILY POST to get a reaction from the Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Muhammed Jalige, were futile. Calls to his phone were not answered. He also did not reply to text messages sent to him up until the time of filing this report on Monday
