A Nigerian woman, Elizabeth Ekpo, has gotten married to her female lover, Krystle, in New Orleans, Los Angeles, in the United States.
According to reports the the wedding took place over the weekend in the United States, which saw Krystle and Elizabeth happily married together.
A sister to one of the brides confirmed the wedding on her Facebook page on Tuesday, where she shared beautiful moments from the celebration via pictures.
The sister to one of the brides, Krystle said her baby sister got married to the love of her life, Dr Elizabeth Ekpo, this past weekend in NOLA.
The caption reads: “My baby sister Krystle got married to the love of her life, Dr. Elizabeth Ekpo, this past weekend in NOLA. I gained an additional sister Liz. I wish both of you happiness and joy forever. Congratulations. I Love you all Always #marriedtomednola.”
Abujapress reports that same sex marriage is prohibited in Nigeria and attracts 14 years prison term for individuals convicted for such act.
