The Chief Executive Officer of an Abuja-based ICT company, Geesix Global Services Mr. Ogota Gerald has been honoured with the prestigious award of Web Hero of the Year 2023. 

The award was organised by African Scholars Care Initiative (ASCI), on the sideline of a quiz competition for secondary schools in the Federal Capital. 

ASCI says its in recognition of Mr. Gerald's outstanding contributions in the ICT sector. 

The Convener of African Scholars Care Initiative (ASCI) Joy Osomiamhe .O lauded the award recipient whom she said has been an active member of the initiative for a long period where he has deployed his technical expertise to aid the functions of the organisation. 

Mr. Ogota Gerald thanked ASCI for finding him worthy of the honour, assuring that his organisation will continue to partner with worthy agencies in raising the bar of selfless service in the country. The event which took place at Merit House, Maitama, Abuja saw other recipients receive awards in various categories, the likes of Mr. Ojogun Osifo, the Director General of National Populations Commission and Ebimoboere Elezieanya, the Founder of iTeach Africa amongst others.

When asked about his skills, the awardee said his is highly skilled and experienced in web design and development spanning over ten years. 

He boasts of designing and developing robust, user-friendly, and visually appealing websites and web applications in those years. 

According to him, he has a proven track record in delivering high-quality solutions that meet client requirements and exceed expectations, in addition to possessing in-depth knowledge of front-end and back-end technologies, as well as strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for details.

ASCI is a non-governmental organisation with a focus on education. It sponsored the inter-school quiz tournament for a selected group of private and public schools in the Federal Capital Territory in commemoration of the International Day of the African Child which was celebrated on 16th of June every year.
