Authorities in Plateau State’s Mangu Local Government Area imposed a 24-hour curfew in the council area on Sunday evening.

A 24-hour curfew has been declared in the Mangu Local Government Area, according to a statement made on Sunday night by Markus Artu, the head of the LGA’s interim management committee. As a result, there won’t be any form of vehicle movement.

“Furthermore, all movement on motorcycles has been banned until further notice. Only Security personnel and workers on essential duty will be allowed to move.”

According to reports, terrorists had just invaded certain local settlements before the curfew was declared.

The precise number of fatalities reported in the impacted towns could not be verified at the time this story was being written, but sources claimed that the terrorists stormed roughly four communities in the LGA, including Mangu town, and killed numerous people while also burning down several homes.

A member of the House of Representatives from the Mangu/Bokkos federal constituency of the state, Solomon Bulus had raised the alarm over killing of over 100 persons in his constituency.
