The Ward head of Sabon-Danduru alongside two others have been apprehended by the Niger State Police Command for theft of motorcycles.

During the arrest, the police also recovered 26 number plates from the suspects.
 
Spokesperson of the command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, said the suspects, Hussaini Mohammed, 45, the Ward head, Isah Umar, 20, of Danduru village, Paiko and Hussaini Ibrahim 25yrs of Bosso area, Minna, were arrested by police operatives attached to Paiko Division based on credible intelligence.
 
“Hussaini Ibrahim was arrested on 26/06/2023 at about 0130hrs for being suspected to have stolen two Jincheng motorcycles from Tudun-Fulani area of Minna on 12/06/2023, while he led the Police team to Isah Umar at Danduru village, Paiko for aiding in the theft of the motorcycles,” the statement read.
 
“During interrogation, the two suspects confessed to the crime and claimed that they stole about four motorcycles with one Nafiu presently at large, and gave it to one Junaidu also at large who sells to Ward’s head; Hussaini Mohammed.
 
“They further confessed that they do sell the motorcycles at the rate of two hundred thousand naira and one hundred and fifty thousand naira to the Ward head. The receiver (Ward head) was later arrested on 08/07/2023 at about 0200hrs with the recovery of twenty-six motorcycle number plates and one fuel tank.
 
“The ward head confessed that he do buys such motorcycles and he usually retrieves the number plates before re-selling. The case is also under investigation at SCID Minna, and all suspects will be arraigned in court for prosecution as soon as the investigation is concluded,”
