Queen of The North Lisa Yaro Redeems Pledge, Showers Donations At IDP Camp, Schools For the Deaf, Others 


International music artiste and Queen of the North, Lisa Yaro has redeemed pledged made to some vulnerable communities in Abuja some three weeks ago when she visited for on-the-spot assessment of their needs. 


During her visit, she touched down at Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Durumi Abuja, school for the deaf in Kuje and other vulnerable people's home where she fulfilled her promises. 


In the IDP, she fulfilled her promise of renovating the dilapidated classroom blocks, donated educational materials such as bags, books, uniforms and more, as well as offsetting outstanding salaries of teachers who had since stopped coming to teach the children in the camp as a result of difficulties in transporting themselves. 

Expressing her gratitude to the women leader of the camp, Liyatu Ayuba said many persons have in the past visited the camp without fulfilling their promises thereafter. 


She expressed gratitude to Lisa Yaro for supporting the smooth running of the school which provides educational services to children of IDPs. 


In Kuje where the school for the dead is located, she donated dining tables and chairs, teaching aids, water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) kits, boards, clippers .


The management of the school could not withhold its depth of gratitude to Yaro, who is based in the United States for her kind gesture, satin it would greatly impact in the smooth running of the school. 

In her remarks, Queen of the North, Lisa Yaro said she returned to make reality her promises as part of her own contributions towards securing the future of the young ones. 


Describing education as "very important", she said she wants to be a vessel for demonstration of love, adding that planting seeds back home is very critical for the development of the society. 


She said Naija is in her blood and will always be, saying with her intervention, others will be inspired to lend a support in making the lives of vulnerable members of the society more bearable.
