The umbrella body of comedians in the FCT, the Abuja Body of Comedians (ABC) has congratulated and welcomed the newly deployed Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth Igweh to the nation's capital, urging him to increase efforts in making the city safer for all.

The Nigerian Institute body while extolling the CP's track record in fighting crime urged him to apply same vigour and energy in rooting out all forms of insecurity in the city of Abuja.

The Body's president, Onome Ohwodo popular called MC Onome Da Saint in a statement at the weekend particularly charged the police boss to tackle kidnapping, banditry, and incidents of "one-chance" so that residents can sleep with their two eyes closed.

Following his recent assumption of duty, CP Igweh pledged to tackle kidnapping, ‘one chance’ robbery, banditry, and other crimes in FCT.

According to Abuja Body of Comedians, "Kidnapping, banditry, and incidents of "one-chance" have become significant concerns for our residents, and we believe that your expertise and strategic approach will be instrumental in combating these challenges.

"We have faith in your ability to lead and inspire your team to work tirelessly towards ensuring the safety and security of our beloved city. Your leadership will play a crucial role in restoring a sense of peace and tranquility in the hearts of our residents, allowing them to go about their daily lives without fear or apprehension."

The body while assuring the CP of its support and cooperation in any initiatives or campaigns aimed at promoting safety and security also remarked that humor can be a powerful tool in raising awareness and fostering community engagement, saying its members are ready to collaborate with the FCT command in creating impactful and meaningful campaigns.
