On Saturday evening, gunmen kidnapped nine travelers at Oshokoshoko along the Kabba/Obajana/Lokoja road.

The kidnapped people include two students, two ladies, and four men.

According to information acquired by our reporter, the event occurred last Saturday between 4 and 5 p.m., when travelers traveling from Kabba to Lokoja left the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in Kabba.

Elupo Eliazer, a person with a disability whose wife is among the victims, stated that the kidnappers initially demanded 30 million but later reduced it to 2.6 million after negotiation.

“My wife and I were traveling to attend our church convention scheduled for Lokoja, but I decided to follow a different vehicle as the Toyota could not contain all of us; otherwise, I would have been in the car with her.”

He mentioned that the vehicle his wife was traveling in was ahead of the one he was in, but all the occupants of the vehicle had been marched into the bush by the time his own vehicle reached the spot.

However, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, promised to find out and provide details later. As of the time of filing this report, he is yet to do so.
