Approximately 60 members of the Federal House of Representatives are actively seeking revisions to the 1999 Constitution to move from the current presidential to parliamentary system of administration.

Led by a member representing Lagos State under the All Progressives Congress, Wale Raji, the lawmakers noted the necessity for decreasing the expense of government and strong policy debates, among other reasons for requesting a return to the parliamentary system.
