Eminent personalities are set to grace the upcoming Africa Mental Health and Wellness Awareness holding February 9, 2024.

Among those expected to grace the event include, Minister of Women Affairs Hon. Barr. Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, Federal Commissioner Federal Character Commission, Hon. Ginika Tor and GIA Foundation co-founder Africa Women Impact Summit, Dr. Utchay Odims. 

The MD Africa Mental Health and Wellness Conference, Onyinye Ugwueke while speaking with newsmen on Monday said advocates and researchers will come together to discuss how to mitigate the stressors and normalize talks around mental health care.

"Every day in Nigeria, the stress is adding up, the stress keeps increasing. So when the stress increases, there is need for mental health awareness to also go up", she said.

According to her, this has become necessary in order to strike the balance and help participants get tools to cope.

She urged residents of Abuja not to miss out in the event hold at Merit House, Maitama Abuja, Nigeria's capital.

Organisers say the event is an opportunity for change, helping participants embark on a journey to a total well-being, engage with wellness experts and explore new approaches and ignite their passion for health.
