President Bola Tinubu met with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Edo state branch at the State House in Abuja.

The meeting, attended by the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Hon Dennis Idahosa, was intended to resolve certain differences.

The President also handed over the party’s flag to the Governorship candidate and his running mate.

Mr Idahosa is also anticipated to abandon his protest litigation against Okpebholo’s candidacy as part of the prior resolutions to address the impasse surrounding the Edo State Governorship primary.

The primary election that eventually produced Okpebholo as a candidate sparked controversy when Idahosa was declared by a commission led by Governor Hope Uzodinma.

The party’s National Working Committee (NWC) deemed the first round of primaries inconclusive due to a number of violations.

The meeting, conducted in the President’s office, was attended by the APC’s National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje; Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North Senatorial District; and Senator Matthew Urhoghide, a former representative of Edo South in the Senate.
