A Point-of-Sale (POS) operator on Friday thwarted an attempt by a customer, Linda Ihenike, to make transaction with fake naira notes to the tune of N90,000 in Lagos State.


The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this on his X handle on Sunday.


According to Hundeyin, the PoS operator raised the alarm after Ihebinike attempted to use fake N1,000 notes to make a purchase totaling N90,000.


Hundeyin wrote, “A vigilant POS operator raised the alarm after a customer, Linda Ihebinike, attempted carrying out a transaction with fake N1,000 notes to the tune of N90,000. Investigation is ongoing.”
