A fire broke out on Lawan Dambazau Road beside the rail line in Kano State, destroying roughly eight vehicles, sheds, and woodwork.
The tragedy happened on Tuesday at an unfinished structure used for carpentry and car repairs.
According to the Kano State Fire Service’s Public Relations Officer, Saminu Yusif Abudullahi, operatives of the command responded at the scene after an emergency contact to the agency’s control room by the police officer P & G Kwalli Police Division.
He said, “It is about 300 x 150ft caught by fire, including eight sheds with carpentry equipment and eight cars were burnt. One shed and one car (were met) slightly alight.
“With the help of Allah and effort of our men, we managed to save about 10 sheds with one temporary Mosque and 37 cars were parked at the garage.”
He said the fire was caused by an electrical spark from the carpenter’s place.
