The Kogi House of Assembly has constituted a 7-member committee to ascertain the revenue accruing to the North-Central state.

Speaker Aliyu Yusuf, while inaugurating the team in Lokoja on Thursday, explained that getting the correct data of monies accruing to the state had become imperative.

“We don’t know what exactly comes from the federation account; we also do not know what we generate internally.

“Following the discrepancies in figures, it has become imperative for us to get the correct data on what comes into the Kogi purse.

“We believe this will greatly help in our drive and desire for rapid infrastructural and human development,” he said.

The speaker said that the terms of reference of the committee would be unveiled “soon”.

He gave the committee eight weeks within which to submit its report.

The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports that the committee is chaired by Olawumi Jacob, with Akus Lawal as Co-Chairman while Muhammed Bello-Abdul is its Clerk.

Other members include Idrees Maikudi, Jibrin Abu, Abdulrasaq Suleiman and Emmanuel Obaro.
