Tobechukwu Okoh aka Peruzzi, a Nigerian artist, has spoken out about receiving old clothes as payment for musical collaborations with his former boss, Davido.

In a recent interview sketch maker, Isbae U’s podcast, Peruzzi was asked about rumors that Davido compensated him with previously worn items

“Is it true that when you write Davido’s songs, he pays you with ‘take this up and down, na once I don wear am’?” Isbae U asked.

Peruzzi grinned and admitted that this had happened once, but stated that it was no longer the case.

He said: “I swear I am not going to lie, I used to collect clothes before. But there was a particular one I wrote and he gave me some money so I stopped but I used to, before.”

Abujapress reports that Peruzzi is the songwriter behind most of Davido’s smash hit singles.

He began recording music after working with Rodney Malice at the age of seven.

Though his signing to Davido’s DMW was being disputed at some point, Peruzzi is a front member of the 30 Billion Gang (30BG).
