The Nollywood community is mourning the loss of one of its esteemed filmmakers, Reginald Ebere, who has passed away. His death marks a significant loss for the industry.


Veteran entertainer Segun Arinze announced the news on Nollywood Giants, a WhatsApp channel for renowned Nigerian entertainers, expressing sorrow over Ebere’s painful demise.


Perekeme Odon, the National Secretary of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), also confirmed the sad news. “We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of our dear brother and colleague, Mr. Reginald Ebere,” Odon stated in an announcement.


Further details about Ebere’s burial will be shared on the platform in due course. In the meantime, tributes from colleagues and friends have been pouring in to honor the late filmmaker.


Reginald Ebere was best known for writing the acclaimed 2001 movie, Issakaba, which remains a significant contribution to Nigerian cinema. His passing leaves a void in the Nollywood industry that will be deeply felt by many.
