The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) on Sunday reaffirmed their commitment to proceeding with the planned indefinite strike concerning the new minimum wage.
Despite eleventh-hour interventions from the National Assembly leadership aimed at averting potential economic disruptions, the organized labour maintains said the strike must commence on Monday.
Both unions disclosed that while they acknowledge the appeal from the National Assembly leadership to reconsider the proposed strike, they will convene to deliberate on the matter.
The decision to uphold the strike remains unchanged as they seek further dialogue with their respective organs before reaching a final resolution.
