The VIP premiere of the movie, "When Wolves Cry" is set to hold on July 13 in Abuja with the Senator representing Delta North, Sen. Ned Nwoko expected as to be the chairman of the event.

This follows a visit of the movie promoters, to his office on Abuja.

Recall that the team had earlier met with Senator Tony Nwoye at his office at the red chamber.

The movie which centres around fake news is produced and directed by Emmanuel Eyaba, an Abuja-based filmmaker and Media consultant, and Executive Produced by Micheal Chinasa. 

He was led to the visit to Ned by the associate producer of the movie and renowned PR consultant, Alex Nwankwo popularly known as AlexReports.

The lawmaker expressed excitement about the movie, saying fake news is a cancer which could destroy Nigeria if it is not fought.

According to the Senator, he had experienced fake news when it was peddled on the social media that he was planning a marriage with an under-aged skit maker and many others.

He called for increased efforts to tackle fake news in Nigeria, even as he assured that as a lawmaker, he is backing an effort to curtail the spread of fake news through a legislative intervention.

Also congratulating the movie producers and promoters, Chief of Staff to Sen. Ned Nwoko, Dr. Mike Nwoko promised to propagate information on the movie to other quarters, with the aim of educating Nigerians on the need to shun fake news. 

In the cast list are, Syndy Emade, Francis Duru, MC Mbakara, Sydney Diala, Steve Eboh, Chiamaka Poshe Idemudia, Alex Nwankwo, Dwayne Eyaba, Tracy Gwazoo, Happy Julian Uchendu, Agility Onourah, Morgan Prosper and more.

The movie has also received the endorsement of UNESCO and it is expected to attract high profile individuals.

It will premiere at Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja on 13th July, where who is who in the country's entertainment industry is expected to make appearances.

Fake news usually circulated through the social media has caused individuals and businesses serious character and brand damage.

This is believed to be one of the efforts to discourage persons from engaging in reputation damage of others by spreading fake news about them.
